A new role which has been created within an automotive purchasing Function. You will manage assigned commodities and suppliers to support business across the globe.

Client Details

A leading global automotive Supplier.


  • Ensure all active purchase items have an active source within a given commodity group.
  • Manage and drive individual and team re-sourcing activities (from negotiations to product approval to purchase orders), ensuring best landed-cost.
  • Negotiate international contract from single purchase to Long Term Supply Agreements (LTA).
  • Ensure system accuracy to enable proper material planning.
  • Gather information constantly to create competitive advantage for the company.
  • Manage Programs - Plan for smooth transitions from existing to new suppliers.
  • Develop current and potential new suppliers – Supply Development.
  • Support cross-functional teams and special projects.
  • Achieve individual and team cost reduction targets.
  • Create and implement global sourcing strategies.
  • Manage cross-cultural negotiations and teams
  • Improve terms surrounding payment term increases, pay-on-consumption / consignment stock
  • Improve customer satisfaction by developing a dedicated supply base.
  • Technical knowledge including ability to read/understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of world raw material pricing (including market indexes) and major world currencies.


The successful candidate will be able to display a good knowledge and proven experience within a direct procurement function. They will also have a good and proven understanding of LEAN processes and have be comfortable interpreting technical drawings. You will also be comfortable planning and implementing effective , lasting global sourcing strategies.
