A blue chip business is recruiting an Analyst to join their highly dynamic team in the Milton Keynes area.

As an Analyst you will have the following responsibilities:

  • To produce all workload forecasting and budget data for the division, developing operational plans for store allocation, stock intake and capacity capabilities.
  • To monitor workload and operational activities, interpret data, produce and publish reports, bringing anomalies and opportunities to the attention of the appropriate management.
  • To monitor and develop reporting and modelling methods.
  • To manipulate data to support the longer term strategic planning process
  • To maintain the Central Distribution data, with ‘plan’, ‘actual’ and ‘budget’ information all tracked and measured.
  • To identify data available from warehouse management systems, extract and use to improve the planning processes.
  • To provide ad hoc analytical support to senior Distribution Managers to agreed timescales.
  • To devise and implement scenarios to the test the Business Continuity Plans at the RDC’s, co-ordinate the evaluation of the response and provide feedback for inclusion in site plans.
  • To pro-actively exceed the needs of customers, demonstrating and promoting a customer focused approach to all activities.
  • To construct and maintain a Business Continuity Plan for the Central Distribution function, liaising with other divisions, RDC’s and external agencies as required
  • To carry out any other duties as required.

The Analyst will have the following skills and experience:
  • Strong analytical, statistical reasoning and numerical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of PC based spreadsheets and databases using both Microsoft and Access.
  • Knowledge of other data-mining tools are desirable, e.g. VBA and SQL
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and modelling techniques.
  • Experience within a distribution/logistics environment would be advantageous
