As the Area Manager, you will be responsible for building ongoing strong relationships with sites across your region to ensure customers receive products and services as requested. Our client is not simply looking for a strong self-starter with exceptional people skills, but someone with strong data and numerical skills, particularly in root cause analysis.

Client Details

Our client is a national house-building/construction company and this exciting, autonomous role sits within their logistics division, responsible for the movement of materials - an integral aspect of their supply chain. The office-based side of this role will be based in Bristol but you will be required to cover a large area across the West of England and Wales, visiting customers on site.


The key responsibilities of an Area Manager will include:
  • Managing several regional business units and to be the first point of contact for the regional and site management teams, building strong relationships
  • Ensuring customer receives requested products and services OTIF (On Time In Full)
  • Tracking regional volumes and comparing to forecasted volumes, understanding reasons for variance and taking appropriate actions
  • Using and manipulating data to build knowledge of issues and repeating problems
  • Using root cause analysis to build reports to support your position and external relationships
  • Pre-site meetings and ongoing visits throughout build
  • Keep records of customer communications - tracking and monitoring trends
  • Identifying opportunities to improve service to the regions


The successful Area Manager will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge
  • Previous experience within a logistics role, particularly in managing OTIF and tracking regional volumes
  • Demonstrable experience across data analysis and report writing
  • Happy working autonomously and a self starter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytically minded
  • Knowledge of Sage X3 is an advantage

Job Offer

The successful Area Manager will be offered a salary of between £30,000 and £40,000 + impressive benefits package.
