Assistant Procurement Business Officer required for Central Government service provider based in Carmarthen.

As an Assistant Procurement Business Officer, you be able:
  • To assist in managing the implementation of a range of contracts that offer value for money, utilising electronic tools, from the identification of demand through to the implementation of contract in line with the agreed programme and to the specified quality standards.
  • To manage the on-going monitoring and management of procurement influence and local implementation of contracts through the accurate management and preparation of data in various mediums.
  • To play a key role in the adherence to and development of ISO/ Quality procedures within the quality framework
  • To manage accurately the data held within the business’ key operating systems
  • To ensure the systematic use of the business’ various IT systems and proactively identify areas for improvement across the service.
  • To manage the timely and accurate dissemination of information to all stakeholders via electronic means.
  • To develop knowledge of all spend category portfolios and to provide assistance to other colleagues, as required, from time to time.
  • Seek evaluate and organise information that supports the measurement of business performance.
  • To develop specialist knowledge to enhance the service to the customers and to reflect changing market demands.
  • To provide advice to all customers on relevant procurement matters through a variety of means including telephone, email, meetings and written correspondence.
  • To proactively develop improved relationships with stakeholders in line with the Organisations quality framework.
  • To lead meetings as appropriate ensuring notes/minutes are taken and actions followed up.
  • To attend meetings with managers as required, taking notes/minutes and following up actions as appropriate.
  • To supervise staff checking and evaluating their work and supporting their training and development needs.
  • To analyse complex data sets, identifying areas of further investigation and making proposals for further action.
  • To investigate and explore areas of activity, identifying the potential for further action and linking this into the Organisations strategic planning process.
  • To take a lead in a specific area(s) of corporate business wide interest.
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.

This is a full-time temporary role that will run initially until 31st March 2019, and pays an hourly rate of £10.30. There is a chance this role could become a permanent arrangement for the right candidate.
