My client is looking for a progressive assistant transport planner. You will ideally have some logistics planning experience and be competent on transport management experience and systems experience.

To organise, allocate work and manage the co-ordination of all or part of the Customer’s supply chain process, including distribution, logistics of the Drivers and routes.



To support and advise Traffic Planners & Drivers whilst en route and devise optimal routing of vehicles.



To ensure the Traffic department is effective and undertakes the routing and administration effectively.



Meet weekly or monthly KPI’s set for the department.



Maintain and update Transport Administration System



To deal with all customer or Driver complaints



Ensure the Drivers are working within legislative requirements and remain fully trained in relevant Health & Safety requirements of Drivers and Working Time Regulations.



Profile





To ensure all dealings with customers and staff are handled courteously and promptly.







To ensure that when customers arrive on site they are greeted and assisted promptly dealing with their enquiry professionally.







To ensure all correspondence with customers, drivers and any relevant third party is noted on the computerised system EVERY time, without fail.







To attend and make contribution to weekly meetings.







To ensure the office is kept clean and tidy and inviting to others.







Have a smart and professional appearance commensurate to the post.







To ensure all visitors to the site are registered properly following Company procedure.







To ensure all work is conducted with due regard to health, safety and welfare of both employees and customers or visitors.







To maintain and improve standards of work through the undertaking of training, attending courses and keeping up to date with technical information.







To assist and undertake new methods of work introduced by the Directorate in order to improve efficiency.







To carry out any other duties as requested whilst working in accordance with health and safety legislation and requirements.





Job Offer

A salary of £23,000 + Benefits
