Our a client, a leading global logistics and international transport business, are looking for an experienced Business Unit Manager to join their established business. You will be responsible for the effective management and operations of a key business unit.

Our client are a leading global logistics and international transport business.

Description

  • Deploy the strategic business plan for the business unit and ensure the plan is delivered through operational excellence
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound movements on behalf of our clients are delivered in their best interests whilst delivering strategic objectives of the group
  • Responsible for setting and managing P+L for business unit
  • Ensure all day to day processes within the office and warehouse are undertaken in a professional manner
  • Continual communication with direct reports to discuss issues, targets, new business, retention of business and customer care.
  • Review on a constant basis the operating procedures undertaken by your operating teams and develop a cadre of individuals with direct responsibility to recommend process improvements to result in better client service and reduced costs
  • Ensure total compliance with all HR, Legal, Liability, Health and Safety, Security & Quality



Profile
  • Extensive experience working within a contract logistics or international logistics environment
  • Strong experience and knowledge of freight forwarding/international shipping essential
  • Proven knowledge of multi-modal logistic products, warehouse management and line feed operation preferred.
  • Strong experience of Air, Courier and European Road modes of transport in order to be able to competently advise both customer and teams when requested
  • Proven budget management experience essential
  • Ability to make informed decisions with customer priority and business longevity as a priority.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
  • Strong people management and motivation skills
