Buyer – Engineering Oil and Gas


£28000 - £30000 basic + Bonus + Bens

Responsible for all sourcing activity on new and existing business covering direct spend within the EMEA region. The role will assume Category responsibility and Supplier responsibility.

  • To source components which are extracted from engineering drawings and database information
  • Working knowledge of common offshore grades and Norsok M650 requirements
  • Understand and secure requirements from complex bills of materials
  • Managing supplier relationships including the development, negotiation and management of contracts with Suppliers. Manage vendor selection and negotiation process and monitoring compliance through Purchasing Agreements including Master Supplier Agreements, Packaging and Labelling Specifications, Tooling Agreements and Terms and Conditions.
  • Ensuring that Suppliers are held accountable for performance and continuous improvement including lead-time reduction, delivery, flexibility, quality improvement and utilise where appropriate supplier scorecards.
  • Support ongoing product development and cost reduction efforts by partnering both internal and external suppliers and working closely with the Regional Product Managers to develop mutually beneficial strategies including successful NPI launches.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of worldwide market trends on relevant commodities, currency fluctuations, freight costs and other relevant cost factors.
  • The main key drivers are Quality, Cost and Delivery and year on year improvements are a necessity.
