A large scale Defence technology and production engineering business is currently recruiting for an Electronics Buyer you join their Procurement team in Greenford due to further growth and expansion of the business.

The Electronics Buyer will provide purchasing support for projects and products to ensure timely and cost effective delivery from the supply chain and ensure continuity of supply of materials to meet business plans. The Buyer will take ownership of subcontract procurement and predominantly printed circuit board assemblies.

Ideal applicants will need to have experience in sourcing electronics and must be eligible to gain security clearance.

Role – Buyer / Electronics Buyer
Salary – £33,000 - £38,000
Type – Permanent
Location – Greenford, Middlesex

Key responsibilities for Buyer / Electronics Buyer and will not limited to:
• Responsible for direct spends, including actioning new purchase order suggestions, generating and issuing to suppliers and managing the process through to delivery
• Action RFQ suggestions, obtain and complete quotation analysis
• Expedite material to satisfy production schedules
• Evaluation, selection, development and monitoring supplier agreements
• Drive cost reduction activities, reduce overall BOM and assembly cost
• Liaise with stakeholders to formulate make v buy decision
• Utilising purchasing metrics to evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement actions

Key skills and experience required for Buyer / Electronics Buyer job applicant:
• Proven experience as a Buyer / Expediting in an Electronics / Mechanical environment
• Experience in buying production items
• Technical manufacturing background - preferred
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• UK driving license
• ERP / MRP
