A global leader in the marine technology design & manufacturing field are seeking to recruit a Buyer / Sub-contract Buyer dealing with a large number of contracts with the UK MOD on a permanent basis.

This Buyer / Sub-contract Buyer position will be responsible for operational procurement support of current programmes and bids and help to ensure that supply chain activities are managed effectively and projects are delivered successfully.

The Buyer / Sub-contract Buyer opportunity will be suitable for Procurement professionals with exposure to sub-contract purchasing. Defence background is not essential for this role and will consider from other technical industries e.g Aerospace / Automotive / Rail.

Applicants must be eligible to gain SC clearance.

Role – Buyer / Sub-contract Buyer
Type – Permanent position
Location – Bristol, Avon
Salary – £30,000 - £35,000

Key roles and responsibilities for Buyer / Sub-contract Buyer and will not be limited to:
• Support project teams and understand project procurement requirements and help with sourcing and procurement of goods and services
• Raising purchase requisitions and purchase order amendments to ensure timely achievement of projects achieved
• Preparation of RFQ’s to suppliers to meet the requirements and demands of project
• Manage good goods in/out process and raising relevant documentation
• Assessment information of suppliers to be added to the approved supplier list to enable Sub-contract Manager to review/approve
• Vendor management and resolve ordered / delivery problems
• Maintain key supplier performance metrics

Key experience skills and experience required for Buyer / Sub-contract Buyer job applicant role:
• Technical manufacturing background
• Sub-contract procurement experience
• High standard of technical skills including MS Office particularly Excel
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
