Experienced Buyer for large Engineering firm in Co. Armagh

Your new company
You will be joining a highly successful family orientated company who have grown significantly throughout the engineering industry over the past 50 years in business. They distribute their unique bespoke products to worldwide customers and place a huge emphasis on targeted delivery schedules and quality. Due to a strategic restructure, they are seeking an experienced Buyer to join and run the end-to-end purchasing function on a full time permanent basis with flexible working hours and additional benefits package.

Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for developing and managing an efficient procurement strategy throughout the company whilst maintaining professional relationships with global suppliers. The Buyer will be targeted on driving cost savings through supplier cost negotiations and outsourcing new supply across the UK to improve on quality, price and on-time delivery. Furthermore, you will liaise with all departments and implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain whilst using internal MRP software to raise daily purchase orders for both raw materials and pre-fabricated products.

What you'll need to succeed
A minimum of two years purchasing experience and working knowledge of the engineering/manufacturing sector will lead to success, along with computer literacy in all Microsoft packages and experience using MRP software for material planning/purchasing. Also, the successful candidate will be able to discuss cost saving examples and the ability to build relationships with global suppliers.
