Your new company
A rapidly growing family run engineering firm based in Tyrone have new contracts set up for this financial year and plans for expansion within the next months which will have a direct impact on turnover and purchasing strategy. Therefore, they are keen to meet with experienced Buyers to fulfil a new full time permanent position working cooperatively amongst a successful procurement department.

Your new role
Reporting into the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for set categories looking after all raw material spend and constantly seeking ways to improve best practice procurement by negotiating new contracts with key suppliers and performing outsourcing activities to obtain cost savings and increase lead times. You will play a central role within the organisation by liaising closely with stores, planning, production and engineers to ensure materials and delivered in line with customer demand and planned efficiently for developing lead forecasts. Also, the Buyer will be actively involved with direct price negotiations and help with ongoing MRP implementation for raising purchase orders and monitoring stock.

What you'll need to succeed
Your previous 2+ years in a purchasing role along with knowledge of the engineering or manufacturing industry will lead to success. MRP/ERP experience or CIPS qualification would be a benefit, but not essential as full training will be provided on a one-to-one basis with the Purchasing Manager.
