Working within the Supply Chain team, the Junior Buyer holds a key position in the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to support the production plans of the company. The Junior Buyer will support the overall strategic procurement process in the delivery of the businesses five-year growth plan

Client Details

An innovative manufacturer to multiple specialist industries .


Placing purchase orders for Goods and Services securing best delivery, quality and cost

Issuing requests for quotation (RFQs), enquiries, reviewing prices

Expediting/ re-scheduling, agreeing delivery plans with suppliers, chasing outstanding items

Handling supplier requests for concession

Dealing with design and goods inwards queries

Providing costing data to the commercial team in order to support customer bids

Liaising with suppliers to build supplier relationships

Keeping Supply Chain KPI board up-to-date

Ensuring continued communication and good relationships with external and internal customers.


An understanding of the buying/supply chain/purchasing process.

Previous experience in a buying role within supply chain/purchasing is desirable.

Previous proven experience undertaking supply chain administration.

Experience of dealing directly with and influencing suppliers including understanding Terms and Conditions of Purchase.

Experience in a metrics focused environment including weekly and monthly quarterly reporting and analysis.

Knowledge of engineering & technology principles & practices is desirable.

Competent level of computer literacy e.g. MS Office Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), EFACS.

Experience of working with and implementing Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
