Your new company
Leader in mechanical and electrical construction, industrial and energy infrastructure, and building services. This company have a reputable global present and are involved across a multitude of sectors in the U.K. They have major contracts with defence, professional services and manufacturing companies alike.

Their purchasing department is expanding and there is a greater need for integrated spending onsite with some of their major clients. Their capabilities to provide skilled services instantly has given them an advantage in the market but there are still more complex maintenance procedures that need to be subcontracted which is where their procurement function will be primarily focused.

Your new role
This role will come with a car or allowance package to support travel to client sites across the south. Supporting the Senior Operational Buyer on key accounts and spends.

To work with internal customers to obtain products & services from suppliers which offer value for money, with considerations of quality, service, sustainability and company policy

To assist the Commodity Team in the progression and implementation of preferred suppliers into the business, supporting the strategic objectives of the Procurement Department.

Seek to review and consolidate supplier spend across multiple sites, working closely with the Commodity Leads and other Buyers.

Review all new supplier requests and carry out credit and suitability checks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Commercial awareness
  • Negotiation skills
  • Able to withstand challenge
  • Good IT skills including Word and Excel
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Achieved or working towards CIPS
  • Able to manage internal customer relationships
  • Able to self-motivate
  • Has well developed problem solving skills
  • Clean driving licence and own transport
