A well established and leading support services organisation based throughout the UK, is seeking a Buyer for their site in Essex. The successful candidate will join the fast growing company and strengthen the Procurement team in order to fulfil current expansion plans.
Responsibilities will include • To manage all aspects of procurement in the Essex contract to assist in ensuring departmental targets are achieved • To manage purchases including negotiating with suppliers to get best products/prices – from existing or new suppliers - not currently on the material library. • To work with Stores Supervisor to manage stocks held within business to ensure o Comply with contractual requirements o Ensure new systems are introduced and managed effectively i.e. store man central to minimise value of stock held and/or waste • To continually research new products that will enhance all aspects of service delivery including cost/performance/quality etc. • To monitor requisition process and ensure that orders are completed accurately and are appropriately authorised. • To provide timely information/reports to ensure all managers are kept aware of any procurement matters. • To work with Central Procurement Team to share knowledge and develop best practice.
Where appropriate you will assist in raising purchase orders if/when required by operations team and in the receipt of new supplier forms and enforce alternative approved suppliers before handing over for authorisation.
