My client is looking for a Categor Buyer with extensive experience within MRO to take charge of the function of this position to manage and execute tactical projects in conjunction with the strategy defined for the MRO (Maintenance Repairs & Operations) category on an initial 12 month FTC.

The Role

  • Responsible for managing procurement processes to select suppliers for procurement of non-contracted materials/goods, services and/or supplies which are considered local spend (as defined thru category alignment) including:
  • Provide leadership in driving projects to support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Gathering and performing analysis of internal spend data
  • Gathering specifications/requirements from internal stakeholders
  • Supports the creation of and validates requirements / statement of works / specifications
  • Implement supplier evaluation criteria
  • Executing local market research to provide supplier option
  • Develop/manage RFP templates per MRO sub category
  • Conduct regional procurement RFPs in line with Cargill CSSP e-sourcing Policy
  • Collecting supplier bids and perform analysis of results
  • Negotiating contract terms and conditions
  • In coordination with the MRO Buyer and / or Procurement Supervisor, select suppliers for procurement of non-contracted materials/goods, services and/or supplies which are considered non-leveraged, local spend Maintain supplier lists / category cards
  • Implement and manage new (tactical) supply arrangements and report on value delivery
  • Maintain & archive as per RIM policy agreement in Ariba to ensure proper supply & demand planning
  • Ensure contract owned are up to date to enable supply and demand as per the agreed terms & conditions
  • Work with the category to buy materials/goods, services and/or supplies in excess of established boundaries & limits
  • Grow in the role of subject matter expert on multi-functional, local or regional project teams.
  • Works with buyers across businesses to coordinate complex procurement activities (e.g. major capital projects or other large spend areas) to leverage resources and increase value capture.
  • Deliver budgeted value for tactical sourcing
  • Teams up with peers in other sub-regions or regions to ensure a common way of working and the exchange of different experiences


The Person

  • Bachelor Degree in business administration, commercial studies, or supply chain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Critical thinker with strategic perspective and results oriented min
  • Persuasive change agent capable of challenging conventional wisdom
  • Ability to work effectively and implement solutions in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a structured way and meet deadlines
  • Ability to gather, organize and understand large amounts of information in a limited amount of time in a complex environment.
  • Familiar with negotiation
  • Fluent in English and French is a "nice to have’
  • ERP affinity, SAP user knowledge is a plus.

  • Basis knowledge of MS Office Package, Excel proficiency

Job Offer

My client is looking to offer a base salary of up to £40k plus package for the ideal candidate on a 12 month FTC
