My client is a leading Utilities organisation that are passionate about Procurement and are looking for talented Category Managers with extensive experience in Indirect Procurement to join their team

Description



Responsibilities
  • To develop and deliver the Support Services category strategy in line with legislation and the Internal Control Manual taking into consideration (but not limited to); H&S, product specification, operational requirements, risk, economies of scale and innovation.
  • Successfully implement category plans and sourcing strategies including (but not limited to); spend and vendor classification, SRM, risk & opportunity analysis and environment & sustainability.
  • Monitor progress against the category strategy implementation, contract compliance and customer satisfaction including the provision of regular reports to business leaders.
  • To review develop and implement processes which support the selection of future suppliers and to provide stakeholders with MI relating to the promotion and relegation of suppliers on the PSL and critical suppliers list.
  • To review and develop the Procurement pipeline and work streams and be accountable for the contracts database relating to the category.
  • Promote procurement best practice and work cross functionally across the business to drive continuous improvement internally and externally.
  • Conduct strategic, high value, and/or complex sourcing/tender exercises required for that category.
  • To confidently lead and execute strategic negotiations of significant value and business critically and be accountable for the total cost of ownership recommendation.
  • To be the category subject matter expert providing leadership across the business and having expert knowledge of market trends and dynamics in order to inform strategic business decisions, challenging the status quo to deliver savings and operational efficiency's.
  • Highly skilled and experienced on contractual arrangements under OJEU regulations having the ability to identify risks and opportunities which support to stakeholders in addressing post contractual or commercial issues.
  • Lead and manage the category team in delivering the full procurement cycle of all tenders and associated work streams ensuring projects deliver the optimum value and savings in line with the annual business plan.
  • To manage the performance of the category team, identifying development opportunities and creating a culture of continuous improvement and a positive climate.
  • To proactively develop, maintain and influence a network of contacts across the business, industry and supplier base.
  • To conduct and monitor monthly progress against category spend and objectives to ensure compliance, monitor performance.
  • Support the Procurement Manager and broader procurement activities across the business as required

  • Preferably degree educated
  • Professionally qualified in a relevant discipline, CIPS or RICS







Job Offer

My client is looking to offer a base salary of up to £55k plus very competitive package
