An excellent opportunity for a Category Manager – Professional Services to work at a Tier One bank within their global procurement function, focusing specifically on the HR category. You will have extensive experience in a complex environment working specifically working on this sub-category to create the strategic plans.

A Tier One bank based in London is currently seeking a Category Manager – Professional Services who will support the Global Category Manager on the evaluation and strategic creation of category plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • On a global basis, lead strategy and planning for a the Professional Services category to deliver competitive advantage for the business through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management and innovation
  • The role will support the Global Category Manager to create and review robust and forward-thinking category plans that will result in savings whilst adhering to policies and procedures
  • Identify new outsourcing opportunities and assess their relevance and potential value to the organisation in conjunction with and under the guidance of the Global Category Manager
  • Develop and influence senior stakeholders and relevant business units
  • Support the execution of the category plans with the Heads of Procurement and Sourcing Execution Leads
  • Creation and analysis of commercial models with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership
  • Responsibility of governance, risk, issues, savings etc.

Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a Category Manager – Professional Services within a global and complex business focusing on strategies, implementing / monitoring governance and risk to ensure cost saving targets are met
  • Excellent category management skills and experience in sourcing a broad range of good and services in relevant indirect category areas
  • Ability to commercially influence and drive business initiatives
  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience within Financial Services industry advantageous
  • MCIPS qualification would be desirable
