An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Category Manager – Services within an expanding organisation based in South Manchester. This a key role for the business and will support the Head of Procurement to develop Category Management across the business.

Duties to include:

- Development & implementation of category management, across key categories including services.

- Management of the strategic sourcing lifecycle, from supplier selection, contract, price negotiation, through to post-contract award SRM and performance assessment.
Creating & implementing sourcing strategies in line with group procurement objectives

- Identification of process improvement opportunities, and promoting procurement best practice

- Liaising cross-functionally with a diverse internal community – e.g.: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain

- Delivering best value purchasing: cost savings, quality, flexibility, governance and strategic vendor relationships

- Identification of new suppliers, delivering innovation and continuous improvement


Experience/skills Required:

- Ability to create Category Management process within a large organisation


- Excellent sourcing, interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills and strong commercial acumen

- People management experience, whether direct or indirect / matrix is advantageous

- Degree educated or equivalent including M/CIPS accredited
