You will be joining a market leading Housing Association that are facing a period of huge growth. Your new role
You will be tasked with putting your experience and knowledge to work by innovating, implementing and delivering real business value, improving the way the business operates and giving the competitive edge to the business. An experienced procurement professional is needed to deliver the strategy. Joining the established Procurement Team and reporting into the Procurement Manager you will focus upon reducing and optimising external expenditure and ensuring adherence across the business for the area of the organisation you are partnered with which will focus on asset management. You will build relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to enhance operational performance. To do this it is imperative and 100% required that you have prior experience in construction, particularly house building and the contracts that are associated with this.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have demonstrable experience of:

• Leading and managing procurement processes from cradle to grave with minimal support, delivering optimal sourcing solutions that provide measurable benefits in maintenance and construction fields
• Strong negotiating skills
• Sound strategic contract management
• A solid understanding of procurement and contract law, (preferably OJEU) having executed industry standard model forms of contracts (e.g. JCT & NEC), developing and producing necessary schedules of amendments as relevant to the scope of each contract. The knowledge of these contracts is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of the construction market with prior experience of monitoring changes of commodities and trends.
• Finally, you will be used to working in a fast-paced environment, where change is the norm, with knowledge of latest purchasing theory and practice including e-procurement tools and MCIPS qualified
