Temp assignment for 6 months with leading energy business for their European Procurement team.

Your new company
Your new company is a global energy business covering over 70 countries across the world. Being an FTSE 100 company, they are known for being a leader in their field, with both onshore and off shore opportunities. They are continuously innovating and working towards a sustainable future.

Your new role
We have an exciting new 6 month contract in convenience retail. Your role is key for the Procurement team of this company to deliver relevant, value adding category strategies in to their downstream business. Your role as a category manager will include creating transformable category strategies, based on supply market expertise, current and future business needs and global category. Additionally, you will be in charge of sourcing, negotiating and contracting activity in their commodity area such as expiring contracts, releases from agreements, and project/TAR supporting. You should have expertise in wholesale distribution, logistics and/or food services. You will be responsible for managing up to 10,000 sites. You will work alongside senior directors to implement a strategy which is transformation from a local to European scope.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need to have substantial procurement experience preferably across Europe. You should have experience in purchasing food and beverages, liaising with groceries or logistics and distribution. You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and be able to maintain relationships with key global suppliers. You will need to have strong analytical skills and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly excel).
