A growth position within a developing and expanding Procurement team. Reporting into Category Management, you will have responsibility for developing and delivering improvements within a defined Category of spend including Contract management, whilst ensuring delivery of best practice.

Client Details

Newly created position to join a Public Sector Organisation in Bristol. An organisation who are both innovative and ambitious are looking for a Category Specialist to support significant change to the way Category Spend is currently managed.


  • Ensure Service providers deliver outcomes in line with contractual obligations
  • Support the achievement of key contract performance
  • Align contractual developments and performance to corporate procurement & commercial developments and goals
  • Develop and promote corporate standard for Contract and Supplier Relationship Management
  • Provide leadership to the team and to contribute to the overall management of the Procurement Division
  • Responsible for managing contract change and negotiation requirements
  • Keep up to date with developments in relation to contract management
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders


  • Background within Public Sector Procurement
  • Understanding of current Procurement Regulation
  • Excellent stakeholder and negotiation skills
  • Able to work with minimal direction and show initiative
  • Strong ability to manage workload
  • Excellent analytic skills
  • History of both budget and people management
  • CIPS qualified or working toward

Job Offer

Salary: £44,000 plus benefits
