The Commercial Manager is accountable for: identifying and qualifying tender opportunities; researching clients and carrying out comprehensive discovery to put together an accurate estimation of the potential value to the business; developing onboarding plans to ensure that won contracts are properly activated; monitoring won contracts.

  • Researching clients to find out more about tender opportunities
  • Gaining a deeper understanding the client’s requirements
  • Assessing whether or not there are further opportunities for the wider business nationwide and across regions
  • Assessing current or previous relationship with the client
  • Writing preparatory summary documents /emails to inform senior stakeholders about the potential value to our business.
  • Activating won contracts
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure that there is a plan for managing the account effectively
  • Liaising with clients directly where necessary to ensure that they have a good understanding of how our business can assist theirs fully
  • Making sure that internal communication around contracts and relationships with clients is up to date.
  • Reviewing revenue streams from contracts
  • Ensuring that the business is managing relationships effectively and maximising revenue streams.

  • Excellent commercial acumen with a value for money focus

  • Demonstrates excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills

  • Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as other Microsoft Office applications

  • Takes initiative, challenges current thinking and makes suggestions

  • Demonstrates drive to work towards targets and deadlines.

  • Demonstrates ability to maintain composure and deliver a solid performance under pressure or in stressful situations – resilience
