We are looking to recruit a number of experienced Black Belts in to our successful 3PL Client to manage the Corporate Continuous Improvement Programme following lean methodologies, fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the Division and company wide network The CI Manager (Certified Black Belt) is responsible for facilitating and supporting the operations with the continuous improvement process, developing a culture of CI. He / she trains the local teams in the lean philosophy and tool set, thus ensuring the sustainability of local compliance. The identification, documentation and adoption of best practices, as well as the development of the tools. The CI Manager (Certified Black Belt) will support the local operations in the identification of improvement potential and in the implementation of improvement initiatives by engaging with operators and completing Black Belt Projects.

  • Supports CI deployment within the Division and at each site of responsibility by using the company Roadmap
  • facilitate and foster the Continuous Improvement process and culture across the Divisions and network by sharing Best Practice, experience, tools and techniques
  • Support both Customer and Operations in the identification of improvement potential and in the implementation of improvement initiatives
  • Ensure sustainability of local CI compliance
  • Identify and collect best practices for further development of the tools
    Monitor savings and CI progress at site(s) via the Corporate Tracker tools
  • Development and support of White Belts, Yellow Belts and Green Belts through coaching and mentoring
  • consistent and timely communication across both the Customer and Operational teams of activity and progress of initiative being undertaken
  • Work with the Operational Teams to identify Black Belt level projects for the Division and lead these projects
    Successful deployment of CI
  • Realisation of improvement potentials, cost savings, soft savings, cost avoidance, revenue increase
    Best Practice proposals (and adoption)
  • Maintenance and management of Continuous Improvement Tracker detailing active resource, and activity
  • Delivery of CI initiatives to agreed time-scales and budget, realising all identified savings
  • Production and communication of Best Practice, including case studies in line with Company standards
  • Lead Black Belt Projects

    Skills required:

  • Certified Black Belt
  • Proven experience in Continuous Improvement in any operational environment (Logistics, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Automotive etc.)
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Influencing, coaching and people engagement skills
  • Leadership skills, inspiring others to follow the programme and change the traditional ways of thinking
  • IT skills (creating presentations, A3s, data analysis)
  • Presentation skills
  • Extensive experience ideally at a Management/Senior operational role on site
  • Numerical/analytical skills (confident in using and analysing data)
  • Financially aware (experience in use of management accounts/P+L)
  • Understanding of P&L and how KPI’s affect profits
  • Organisational skills
  • Very good knowledge of CL business and supply chain processes
  • Able to work independent and within a team
  • People management skills
  • Strong affinity with required customer quality standard
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Knowledge and experience of process management
  • Awareness of key management techniques and examples of how these have been used effectively
  • Change Management skills, Team motivation, Development and succession planning
  • Ability to translate new ideas into practical solutions
  • Able to present information in an articulate manner
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation
