A large, reputable organisation are looking to recruit a Contract Manager on a permanent basis, paying £35,000 - £45,000 per annum in Central Birmingham

Your new role
Working closely with the FM/Estates and IT Category Managers in the Procurement team, this post will be required to manage key strategic contracts on behalf of the Estates and Facilities and the IT departments to ensure that contracts are operating effectively, sourcing and collecting contract performance data (such as pricing and supply chain costs), monitoring performance and KPI’s and monitoring compliance with Terms and Conditions. This role will take appropriate steps to address contractual non-compliance and pro-actively manage risk and reward mechanisms in contracts. The role will provide a strategic link between the Procurement department and the Estates and Facilities and IT departments, to drive value for money through contracts and improve contract performance and management information.

What you'll need to succeed
Reporting to the Head of procurement you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or hold a relevant professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS). You must demonstrate knowledge and experience of procuring and/or managing IT and/or Facilities Management (FM) and Estates contracts. You will also have experience of managing contracts to ensure that suppliers adhere to agreed contract requirements and experience of developing and managing action plans to implement any improvement initiatives. You must have the ability to build relationships within the supply chain and internal clients and a good understanding of general contract law principles. You will have a commercial outlook and demonstrable experience of negotiation with suppliers to drive value for money in contracts.
