Job Purpose You will own the execution of Bag Supply Chain ensuring the highest levels of safety, customer service, operational performance and cost control through the effective management of 3rd Party Haulier contracts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities Line Management: Direct line management responsibility for Pallets & Pallecons, Exports & Raws, Bill Payments & Admin and EU & Interfactory role holders. Lead, develop and inspire your team to deliver exemplar Customer Service within agreed cost constraints. Contract Management: Oversight responsibility for the day to day management of 3PLs and other Logistics Suppliers in accordance with contracted standards. Budget Management: Responsible for estimating and presenting an annual budget cost for all Bag activities and controlling spend within an agreed budget (and re-forecasted) allocation. Customer Management: Responsible for executing Customer orders in accordance with customer expectations (On Time and In Full). Further responsible for the receipt and recording of all customer complaints within the customer experience database and for taking corrective action where the fault lies within the Bag Supply Chain Value stream. Strategy: Responsible for setting the long-term vision for the Bag Supply Chain team and for the deployment of a CI strategy to deliver business objectives. Further responsible for supporting corporate goals & commercial development Leadership: Responsible for example setting and role modelling of behaviours that accord with company values and inspires others to do likewise.
Measures of Success Performance: Customer satisfaction performance is maintained at target (or better) consistently each period for: " Delivery on Time " In Full order quantity " Customer Complaints " Safety Cost: Spend remains in-line (or better) than budget (or re-forecast). Staff: Turnover/retention of staff remains within business target ranges.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Senior Management experience leading teams and business processes for at least 2 years. A minimum of 5 years Logistics experience, ideally gained within a Blue-Chip 3rd Party Logistics provider. Proven track record of leading change initiatives with tangible results Exceptional Leadership skills Excellent Communication skills Mental agility and decisiveness Interpersonal skills sufficient to build great team dynamics and influence laterally and upwards Degree qualified (or equivalent) High intelligence Great communication skills Gravitas Loyalty Willingness to learn quickly and work long hours to deliver results Sense of humour/fun Expertise in more than one business area
DESIRABLE CRITERIA Supply chain knowledge, skills and experience highly desirable but not essential Experience of using Lean/Six Sigma process improvement methodologies. Masters Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain/Logistics orientated disciplines.
