Corporate Services Purchasing Manager

Location: Cleveland

Salary and package: Negotiable

Venator is a leading chemical company focused on the development and manufacture of titanium dioxide pigments and performance additives that improve the quality of life for consumers everywhere. It has one of the broadest product portfolio in the industry and has built up its leading position in specialty titanium dioxide pigments and differentiated performance additives over many years by satisfying the exacting standards of its customers. Venator’s products are used as intelligent ingredients in thousands of everyday items including coatings, plastics, cosmetics, paper, pharmaceuticals, fibres, films, inks, catalysts, concrete, building materials and in water purification.

Role

A newly created role within Venator reporting to the EMEA Director of Purchasing, this key mandate will take responsibility for all corporate services purchasing across the EMEA region post business separation. The successful candidate will be based from the Venator Global HQ Campus at Wynyard Park, Cleveland however will require a degree of travel to ensure an effective international contribution is delivered.

The incumbent will play a key and central role within the new business’s global purchasing group to ensure supply continuity post spin off, leading to a full assessment of the supply chain priorities of Venator Materials Corporation as an independent entity. The evolution of a world class procurement function across all corporate services expenditure to a complex international organization is of paramount importance, whilst maximizing short to medium term commercial benefit and maintaining strategically important relationships throughout the transition period.

Key Accountabilities

  • Negotiate and coordinate corporate level, EMEA and global agreements likely to be impacted by the planned business separation in line with financial priorities of the new company.
  • Develop effective sourcing strategies over the short, medium and long term leading to operational initiatives to improve total cost value creation for the full range of corporate services used by a complex international organisation. These include but are not limited to:
    • Professional Services
    • Legal Services and Support
    • HR, Accountancy and Tax, Marketing
    • Global Travel
    • IT Services and Hardware
  • Leadership of a small team of process excellence specialists to improve and develop a best in class procurement service to the organisation as it evolves post separation. This would include source to pay process optimization and transactional process excellence utilizing the latest IT enabled processes and effective performance management tools.
  • Coordinate and influence widely across the business with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure appropriate sourcing initiatives are sponsored and delivered to serve the needs of the organisation across multiple territories for maximum gain.
  • Manage and review contractual arrangements, supplier performance and coordinate category focus at a local, regional and global level.
  • Demonstrate measurable commercial benefits in driving procurement value through sourcing efforts, contractual negotiation and vendor relationship management.

Key Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally a degree qualified purchasing professional, with 10 years’ experience in a relevant procurement mandate. Leadership experience would be a distinct advantage
  • Specific exposure to corporate services commodity and service areas would be preferable, such as HR, Professional Services, Legal, Travel, Insurance, Marketing etc.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen would be required, with first class communication and negotiation skills. Additional languages would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to make a significant contribution within a multi-cultural organisation is a necessary component for success.
  • Able to handle multiple, complex priorities and balance the needs of each according to business impact.
  • Able to work effectively in a team based environment, with considerable influencing skills and an ability to lead beyond direct authority.
  • Any exposure to mergers, acquisitions or business separation a distinct advantage.
