An exciting opportunity for a Demand Planner to be based within a fast-paced, growing distribution company based in Farnborough.

My client are seeking a Demand Planner to both work within the Supply Chain team, providing accurate Demand Plans to ensure optimum stock levels within the distribution centre, whilst reducing transportation costs from internal manufacturing sites.

This role will also include management of the supply goods from the supply sites and warehouse through to customers based in Europe, ensuring high levels of customer service across all aspects of the business.

This role would suit either a graduate within Supply Chain, Logistics, or someone that has studied a numerical focused degree, as well as those who are experienced within Demand Planning / Forecasting.

Location - Farnborough

Salary - £25,000 - £35,000

Duties and Responsibilities for the Demand Planner / Junior Demand Planner:

• Utilising SAP/J1 to process both accurate and timely sales orders along with the management of invoicing.
• Utilising internal forecasting tool (infor) to monitor, analyse and generate accurate long terms forecasts to enable sufficient stock levels to meet the customers demand, whilst maximizing ocean freight and enabling better capacity planning within our plants.
• To be actively responsive to customer changing demands with liaison between customers, supply managers, Logistics, Account managers and warehousing agent (Nippon Express - NEUK)
• Create customer/demand forecasts; Process sales order - ensure that compliance policy and agreed pricing is met;
• Utilising MRP for E1 (back to back) customers mirroring requirements. For E2 (direct business) customers - monitor exception messages in SAP,
• liaise with supply managers and proactively respond where customer demand is not met;
• Regular liaison with customer to ensure demand and supply is balanced to best fulfil customer requirements.
• To maintain SLA’s in respect of customer delivery, pricing and product queries (• Maintain and manage filing systems with regular archiving as necessary.
• Understand customer business and retrieve any information as required by communication with the customer; Face to face meetings when appropriate may also be required to ensure good customer relationships (EU Travel may be necessary, although infrequent/ad-hoc).
• SAP data management: material and price set up, new account set up
• Provide support to Account Managers and Supply Chain team members during absences.

Skills and Experience required for the Demand Planner role / Junior Demand Planner:

• Successful and demonstrable experience in a position of the same or similar nature
• Previous experience with supply of product to Europe & North Africa
• Professional and Confident utilisation of MS Office applications; specifically Excel to intermediate level
• Comprehensive working knowledge / experience of SAP
• Effective Time Management skills and Ability to prioritise
• Understanding and exposure to supply chain processes and strategy
• Ability to work autonomously and within a small team
• Proven and demonstrable experience/ execution of organisational core competences
• Proficient communication skills; written & oral . Second EU language or Arabic would be advantageous
