Depot Manager needed for new role with integrated health care business in Torbay.

Your new role

My client, a pioneering provider of integrated healthcare services, have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Depot Manager to join their growing business at their branch in Torbay, Devon

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the Depot Manager will have overall responsibility for leading a team in providing a high quality service to customers in the branch’s area of operations. You will act as the key member of a regional team where you will be accountable for implementing branch plans, operational structures and branch procedures as determined by the Head of Operations.

The successful candidate will ensure that the branch meets performance standards set in the key result areas of the business and will also be responsible for ensuring branch compliance in line with regulations and Good Distribution Practice (GDP)

This opportunity requires a high level of motivational and communication skills, as well as a sound knowledge of the commercial and operational requirements of an industry where customer satisfaction depends largely on rapid response and quality of service.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Ensuring the efficient management of the branch’s financial accounts and the implementation of effective financial control procedures
  • The control of all overhead budgets for the branch including employment, fleet and other overhead costs
  • Maintaining effective liaison with the Company’s Sales, Hospital Service and Marketing teams to ensure the maximum recruitment of new customers and the development of the existing customer base
  • Ensuring that the branch implements effective and efficient management of all operating systems
  • Overseeing the recruitment, training, development and discipline of all personnel employed at the branch,
  • Monitoring, on an ongoing basis, the performance of all direct reports, and undertake regular reviews in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
  • Ensuring the efficient monitoring and control of all Branch inventories including local purchasing, storage, disposal, inter-branch transfers of stock, stock levels and the investigation and reconciliation of all stock variances in line with Company guidelines.

What you'll need to succeed
  • The ideal applicant will have proven experience of successfully managing several diversified business functions in an FMCG/Retail environment, preferably in the supply chain & distributive industry. He/she will possess strong man-management and leadership skills, capable of achieving business goals through motivation, teamwork, continuous improvement programmes and performance reviews.
  • Strong organisational, finance and budgetary skills along with familiarity of PC packages

What you'll get in return

Full time role £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits.
