My client is a leading Wholesaler based in Birmingham. They are looking for a Depot Manager to be responsible for managing a workforce of up to 250 FTEs.

Description

Monitor, manage and co-ordinate all depot based resources to ensure an increase in operational productivity and improved quality of service provided.

Ensure service delivery meets defined key performance indicators whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and productivity.

Defines and supports the development of the drivers and staff as a whole by identifying and sharing best practice

Manages and ensure compliance of Health & Safety, Environmental, Employment legislation and Company policy to ensure defined standards and best practice are adhered to.

Agrees, monitors and manages the full depot P&L budget, delegating accountability where appropriate, supporting financial year on year growth of the depot

Work within cross-divisional teams to provide integrated waste solutions using best practice and through continuous improvement.

Profile

The successful Depot Manager will have:
  • Strong experience in depot operations management
  • Proven track record in delivering innovative performance improvements and operational excellence
  • Knowledge of the complete life cycle of a contract i.e. start-ups and closures is ideal
    Knowledge of support services / contracts business model (including 3PL) highly desirable
  • Experience of new business tenders
  • Demonstrable exemplary customer relationship management skills with the flexibility in style and approach to manage a number of clients with varying requirements at the same time
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at all levels. Able to manage conflict and tough conversations including complex IR issues
  • Successful in building effective stakeholder relationships with the ability to influence management team's thinking to deliver high performance through a culture of accountability and ownership
  • Agile approach to strategy and planning with a proven experience of adapting operational plans to changing customer requirements whilst also achieving a commercial benefit
  • Experience of change management processes including successful delivery of change
  • Has worked within Continuous Improvement programmes and can demonstrate an appreciation of key methodologies and approaches
  • Understands how to use IT / technology to drive performance
  • Able to manage Equality and Diversity issues and creates a culture of respect and "Dignity at Work" for all
  • Understands team dynamics and composition and applies knowledge to develop high performing teams
  • Understand key drivers to achieve high levels of employee engagement and uses these to deliver high performance
  • Personal resilience, tenacity and motivated by achievement.
  • Highly numerate and excellent written skills.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills.

Job Offer

£50,000 - £55,000 + car and benefits
