The Role
To create and lead the Companies strategic procurement function. The function will direct strong influence and support the company’s growth, profitability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the transition and transformation of the existing Order Placing Department to become a best in class Strategic Procurement Function
  • Through exceptional leadership, create an organizational design that maximises its resources and supports development and succession planning, allowing a highly engaged team to add value through.
  • Provides a first-class counsel and service from Board level downwards throughout the organisation.
  • Provide valuable and efficient procurement service to that delivers year on year cost reduction and competitive advantage allowing opportunity for growth.

Procurement strategy and responsibilities
  • Develop a strategic, pro-active, valuable and efficient procurement service to Healthcare at Home that delivers year on year cost reduction and competitive advantage.
  • Prioritise, develop, introduce and implement new Procurement policies and procedures across the business.
  • Introduce Procurement best practice through category management, negotiation skills, programme management, risk management, supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish, maintain and execute appropriate supply and supplier strategies, working with the business, consistently ensuring reliable supply, service and quality at lowest possible total cost.
  • Ensure majority of negotiable spend is formally contracted & reviewed regularly with monitored high levels of end user compliance to preferred agreements.
  • Promote the benefits of effective procurement across functions by influencing, negotiating, educating and persuading others to embrace innovative, quality and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Continually strive to develop greater market and product expertise in order to understand the commercial model of the business and interact effectively with pharma-co’s and suppliers.
  • Lead change to support continued product/service development, rationalisation and standardisation to reduce costs without compromising on patient and customer care.
  • Pro-actively support new business initiatives/tenders.

Skills and Qualifications
  • A multi-year track record of developing and leading successful Procurement teams
  • Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry experience desirable
  • Public sector procurement experience, particularly with the NHS (D)
  • Experienced in the negotiation of commercial agreements and influencing at a senior level
  • Expert knowledge of procurement strategy, negotiating and purchasing skills
  • A good technical appreciation of the range of procurement categories
  • Demonstrated performance in leading cost reduction or value creation across supply chains
  • Successful track record in challenging the status quo and delivering change in challenging environment
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement appropriate procurement policy, processes, procedures and performance measures
  • Educated at least to Degree level
  • CIPS qualified or equivalent
