Position Summary

The Director of Operations and Supply Chain is accountable for the safety, quality, delivery, cost process within Clinical/ Commercial Packaging Operations, overseeing the functions of packaging, process engineering, maintenance, preproduction, and label control. In addition, Supply Chain responsible are also included in the role remit and covers all aspects of planning, procurement, facility scheduling, capacity planning, materials management and logistics.

This role reports into the site GM and is part of Site Leadership Team of 9 individuals

The Role

  • Manage overall Operations & Supply Chain performance related to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (PSQDC) including but not limited to cGMP and OSHA compliance.
  • Directs and monitors the activities and performance of all assigned Operations & Supply Chain personnel.
  • Encouragers the use of Lean Principles and measurements (Constraint Utilization, Constraint Productivity, Constraint Downtime, Buffer Management) to control and facilitate operations in all areas assigned.
  • Monitors the management of customer batch record operations in the production rooms, and ensures that product integrity, customer satisfaction and timelines are met on a consistent basis by all staff.
  • Ensures that all Manager and Supervisor  workloads are balanced and re-aligns resources as necessary.
  • Owns specific duties related to management system programs, employee engagement, setting the right CULTURE and actions associated with the overall site EH&S program implementation.
  • Reviews Master and Daily Schedules in production and Supply Chain operational planning and scheduling to monitor and ensure the timely progress of operations.
  • Attends daily Production meetings to review progress, operations, personnel and other requirements for existing and upcoming orders.

The Candidate

  • Knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of MHRA and FDA regulations.
  • Proven track record in planning, inventory reduction, and leading change in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong leadership qualities
  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced with Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Good interpersonal communication & strong organizational skills
