Electrical Engineering Process Technician job with a multi-national market leading medical device company

Your new company
A fantastic opportunity with a multi-national medical device company has arisen within their eye care division! This is a 15 month contract which will run until the end of October. You will join a well-established business at the focal point of distribution across EMEA. The company distribute around 4 million orders a year across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. You will join a dynamic, ambitious workforce of over 180 people with operations running from 6am to 10pm.

My client will need someone who is comfortable working shifts, the earlier shift is 6am to 2pm and the PM shift is 2pm to 10pm. You may at times, be required to work additional hours during the week or on weekends, but this will be paid at x1.5. Standard working hours is 40 hours per week across 5 days.

Your new role
Your main responsibility is to run the day-to-day operations of the machinery. You will take ownership over engineering downtime information, shift handover logs, equipment monitoring, planned maintenance and continuously look for ways to improve processes.

You will work towards maintaining equipment uptime at 98% through hands-on maintenance and quality of workmanship. You will need to have a strong eye for detail and continually focus on process and equipment optimisation. You will need to be organised to ensure you are keeping to scheduled maintenance and to the highest quality.

You will also work closely with the Engineering Manager to compile test plans and procedures for quality systems and conduct continuous improvement activities as well as conducting Root Cause Analysis.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need an Engineering City & Guilds or an NVQ Level 3 equivalent in an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering discipline. You will need to be adaptable and flexible in your approach as you may be required to work additional hours at times, and at least 1 Saturday a month (paid @ x1.5). You will need some experience with software designed around fault finding, as well as good working knowledge of MS Office and an interest in different computer software/packages.

In addition you will need mechanical and electrical comprehension skills and be capable of understanding engineering drawings, symbols and notations. You will need to be sharp and have the ability to think quickly on your feet as issues and faults can arise at any time, so you will need experience in fault finding.
