F4N Industrial Advisor – South West
University of Sheffield
Field based (Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and South Wales by exception) with requirements to be on-site at Nuclear AMRC (Rotherham), as required (1-2 day per month)
£39,992 - £47,722 per annum, with potential to progress to £53,691 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution
Permanent or Open-ended
Ref: UOS018974

The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre is an example of our innovative spirit and commitment to making a real impact in the world beyond campus.  It is a unique hub of expertise which helps UK manufacturers get ready to bid for work in the civil nuclear supply chain.

The Industrial Advisor is crucial to the success of the Fit for Nuclear (F4N) program.  Reporting to the Supply Chain Development Programme Manager, you will facilitate and support companies through their F4N journey - from the assessment of a company, to producing action and improvement plans, and providing surgeries, advice and guidance along the way.  They will rely on your support as a trusted advisor, to make the most of opportunities in the civil nuclear supply chain.

This job is field based with extensive travel, including occasional overnight stays.  You will be responsible for providing coverage in and around Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall.  You will be required to provide regular updates, including in person, to the Nuclear AMRC.  When not working from client sites, you can work from home.  We aim to ensure that most sites are less than a 2 hour journey from your home, so the role offers a good opportunity to develop a rewarding work/life balance.

Knowledge of the nuclear industry is not essential as we will provide training, and specialists will always be on hand to answer your questions.  What you will bring to the role however, is substantial manufacturing experience spent in a Managing Director, Operational or Quality Management role.

Coupled with this will be a flair for motivating high performance, solving problems and delivering change. As important as your professional credibility are your communication skills.  With the ability to network with staff at all levels, you will be able to demonstrate an aptitude to work effectively with business leaders showing where you have built strategic business partnerships and collaborations at a senior level.

You will be working in one of the UK’s best not-for-profit places to work, according to the Sunday Times’ ranking of Britain’s happiest and most motivated workforces. An excellent benefit package is available including an excellent pension scheme, 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and access to 'The Deal' reward and recognition scheme.

To apply, please follow the apply link below to our website and searching for the job reference number or job title.

Closing date: 3 May 2018.

The University is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from a diverse range of applicants. All applicants will be considered entirely on the basis of their relevant merits and abilities.
