As Fleet and Workshop Supervisor you will deliver a first class service to the operational site, ensuring efficient and effective processing of vehicles meeting client expectations in quality and lead times.

Description

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the daily operational planning of all activities relating to the technical department to ensure all dedicated deadlines are met.
  • Oversee and monitor workshop efficiencies. Optimising the lead times of vehicles requiring technical processing, reacting promptly to resolve issues.
  • Meet customer requirements in term of quality and lead times, advising promptly of any delays or concerns
  • Ensure most cost effective repair methods are used at all times.
  • To review and improve processes to develop efficiencies, ensuring any problems are followed through to root cause.
  • Monitor workmanship to maintain and enhance quality results.
  • Monitor supplier’s performance ensuring adherence to agreed targets.
  • Oversee subcontracted functions challenging the site representative to resolve.
  • Ensure compliance with all group operating procedures and standards.
  • To ensure business requirements are continually met maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Monitor work areas to ensure they are organised and orderly with a strong focus on safe operating practices.
  • Distribute and communicate information clearly and precisely within daily MTQ meeting.
  • Regularly communicate information to all team members to improve awareness of performance and expectations.
  • Assess and plan training requirements and develop action plans for line reports.
  • Assess and Monitor the performance and achievements of the department, setting KPI’s to measure against targets.
  • All manual and electronic filling are kept up to date and in line with 5’s standards.
  • Ensure working instructions are kept up to date and in correct format.
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required from time to time by your line manager.







Profile

Technical Skills Required

  • Candidates must have previous experience working within the vehicle service & repair industry.
  • Able to deal with large volumes whilst achieving lead-times according to SLA’s.
  • Must have previous experience managing a large team (10+ operatives) in a fast-paced technical workshop environment
  • The candidate will have good knowledge on technical repair methods.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills is also essential as is the ability to analyse why things go wrong to help put in place a continuous improvement culture to help drive quality and operational efficiencies.
  • It is important that the role holder has good H&S knowledge and as a minimum, practical experience of risk assessments and accident investigations

Management/Leadership Skills Required
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to withstand pressure and take ownership
  • Self-motivated and pose excellent leadership qualities
  • Wide experience in managing busy workshop operation
  • The ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Business acumen and good financial understanding
