My client, a leading distribution company based in Birmingham, are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager for a National role.

The ideal candidate will have previous fleet management experience across LGV's, HGV's, and Cars, and an International CPC.



Client Details

A leading distribution company based in Birmingham.

Description

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing national depot audits
  • Managing a fleet of 2000
  • Compliance & vehicle maintenance for all fleet
  • Accident investigation
  • Driver training
  • Compile fleet maintenance costs, analyse and highlight any overspend or incorrect charges and challenges
  • Implement fleet improvement initiatives
  • Co-ordinate third party repairs to the fleet and ensure fleet down time is kept to a minimum
  • Process driver fines and ensure all documents are completed and liaise with Central Engineering to maintain operator licence compliance
  • Plan and manage fleet tachograph calibrations, to ensure they are carried out before the calibration dates are due to maximise fleet availability
  • Manage the fleet tracking, ensuring all fleet are tracked at all times. Any rectification is managed and associated costs are controlled
  • Ensure all daily/weekly reports are complete within the timescales required
  • Manage the fleet usage, mileages and hours, identify any fleet that is under or over utilised. Influence the necessary changes to reduce fleet costs









Profile

Key skills required:

  • Ability to use a range of systems and databases, including Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of road transport law and legislation
  • Knowledge of Operators licence requirements
  • Knowledge of Heath & safety requirements
  • Good at managing and influencing
  • Good communicator
  • Good customer service skills (internal and external customers)
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to generate ideas regarding improvements and make recommendations
  • Ability to be based out of Birmingham with National travel
  • Certificate of Professional Competence (International).





Job Offer

Salary on offer is between £36,000 and £40,000 + Car
