Category Manager – Hard and Soft FM – Housing Association – Up to £65,000 DOE - Southampton

A public sector housing association has recently come to market with a Category Manager position as they are expanding their remit and continually adding to their property portfolio. As you will be engaging with a new division so this will be a relatively Greenfield position with an emphasis on stakeholder management and being able to create long lasting relationships with the wider business.

The Procurement Responsibilities of the Category Manager for Hard and Soft FM:
  • Manage all Hard and Soft FM procurement needs for the housing association:
    • Tenders
    • Contracts management
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Create a detailed procurement pipeline
  • Ensure all processed comply with OJEU regulations and public sector policy is strictly adhered to
  • Develop sourcing strategies for the all subcategories including:
    • Waste management
    • Refurbishments
    • Cleaning services
    • Security
    • Catering
    • Estates management
    • MRO

The Key Skills and Qualifications of the Category Manager for Hard and Soft FM:
  • Extensive knowledge of OJEU tendering
  • Must be a category expert within Hard and Soft FM
  • Previous public sector experience is essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional demeanour
  • CIPS or relevant business qualification is preferred
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence
