IT Procurement Manager / Oxfordshire / Up to £60,000

Your new role
This position is responsible for managing Technology Services procurement activities for all divisions in the UK, Europe, USA and other regions. In conjunction with the rest of the team, the individual will deliver cost savings, mitigate risk, influence sourcing decisions and supplier selection.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in one or more of the following industries a plus: insurance, healthcare, finance and publishing.
  • Experience with IT technologies such as IT services, application development management and support, infrastructure services, software development, cloud computing, and industry leaders that supply services.
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience, utilising project management disciplines and tools.
  • Able to understand and influence internal stakeholder demands and decisions on relevant requirements.
  • Experience in successfully developing proposals and driving vendor evaluation and qualification processes.
  • Ability to quickly understand and work with individuals of varying business cultures, both domestic and international.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills leading to abilities to influence and impact strategic organisational transformations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • The candidate has to have the ability to work as part of a team

Internal skills and experience
  • Ability to interact effectively with Divisional Executives, Senior Managers and Manager.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Divisional functional and business unit departments and budget owners responsible for the spend categories.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Legal Department for contract drafting, negotiation and monitoring.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various departments for internal audit, social and environmental responsibility, diversity and related departments for compliance and fiduciary controls.
  • The successful candidate will likely have significant work experience in procurement, and managing supplier relationships.

External Working Relationships
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with third-party suppliers of varying service offerings and on a varying global/cultural basis.
  • Interact with external vendors as appropriate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the IT Services industry.
  • Honed negotiation skills, developed through substantial deal making experience.
  • Solid influencing skills that can be used to build partnerships
  • Experience writing and generating RFP's, RFI's and RFQ's to suppliers.
  • Excellent quantitative/analytical skills
  • Excellent project management skills
