An excellent opportunity for a Graduate Buyer to work on a permanent basis for a market leading Global manufacturer based in Lancashire.

The role requires a professional individual to join the business as an Graduate Buyer to assist and provide operational support to the procurement department.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
  • Accountable for providing operational support to senior management.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of discreet projects, both pre and post-contract award, to ensure anticipated benefits of new agreements are realised by the business.
  • Own and manage a number of preferred supplier agreements, both pre and post contract award including implementation of service and on-going service review involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Validate all orders received to ensure requestors have complied with the procurement process. Liaise with requestor where additional information is required.
  • Provide general administrative support to Procurement Team.
  • Prepare, issue and manage return of customer surveys

Skills/Experience Required
  • Degree level academic background or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (CIPS) or desire to obtain this is desirable
  • Organised and methodical.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Appetite to negotiate a better deal.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of MRP systems is desirable
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Effective Team Working
