The successful Group IT Procurement Specialist will be joining a market leading FTSE 250 business in Central London during a a wide ranging business technology transformation where you will be engaging with a range of senior stakeholder. In this role you will be owning projects across the technology category but with a focus on software and SaaS.

My client is a market leader in what there chosen sector with a global footprint within an established presences in those regions. Already this year they have demonstrated extraordinary group growth at time of economic uncertainty. As Group IT Procurement specialist you will be joining a small team of 4 based in central London who have have access to C-suite stakeholders who buy into what procurement is doing. There is a dynamic working environment which encourages a strong work/ life balance and has won numerous awards for diversity and inclusion.

Description

The key responsibilities of a Group IT Procurement Specialist are the following:-
  • Working with the Group IT Procurement Manager on Global / Group / UK & ROW technology Procurement activities and contracts in accordance with Group policies
  • Providing professional and proactive Procurement support – working with the Group IT Procurement Manager and stakeholders to identify and agree opportunities for cost savings and service improvement across our Global / Group / UK & ROW technology landscape.
  • Fostering and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Contributing to overall Group Procurement team target of delivering cash-able savings within IT
  • Future scope for line management responsibilities.
  • Providing commercial and procurement leadership, guidance and advice to stakeholders.
  • Working alongside the Group IT Procurement Manager to undertake supply market analysis, tender activities, and negotiating contracts and support ongoing supplier relationship management activities.
  • Conducting and report on spend analysis and supporting the Group Procurement team to facilitate the identification of opportunities from the data.
  • Working with the Group & UK legal teams to ensure fit for purpose commercial contracts are put in place across our IT supply chain.
  • Working alongside the Group IT Vendor Management Team to ensure obtains value for money from the contracts we negotiate.

Profile

The successful Group IT Procurement Specialist will demonstrate the following:-
  • Strong IT procurement experience – 3 years +. Sound understanding of the IT market – key sectors, players, market trends etc.
  • Demonstrate Software procurement experience including with Tier 1 vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Salesforce, VMWare, Citrix etc.)
  • A CV demonstrating a track record of cost savings
  • Stakeholder management – strong stakeholder management skills – ability to not just agree with senior stakeholders, but influence/challenge stakeholders (in the right manner)
  • Negotiation – ability to demonstrate effective negotiation skills
  • Contract law – a working understanding of contract law and ability to navigate through commercial contracts
  • Challenging – ability to challenge status quo and bring new thinking / ways of working
  • Analytical / problem solver
  • Confident, outcome based person
