Role Purpose As the Head of Procurement for our market leading organisation, you will be required to assess the strategic direction of Procurement as a business function as well as building a high performing and professional team.
This role is based in our Sheffield Head Office.
Key Duties
Set and monitor the Department budgets to ensure high quality delivery against business targets
Ensure legal compliance for the business within a framework of business improvement and a satisfying working environment
Negotiate contract and price terms with suppliers to maximise savings to the company
Source suppliers that will generate maximum benefit to the business
Monitor the performance of suppliers to ensure that the company continues to use those providing the best service
Compile and maintain a list of preferred and non approved suppliers
Prepare regular reports on materials and supplier performance to assist in decision making
Manage the staff of the department to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
Ensure the Procurement teams adhere to procurement policies in line with business goals and ensure that the company complies with legal requirements and best practice
Continually challenge operational requirements and supplier spend, identifying and critiquing cost and contract variations and direct the business towards the Preferred Suppliers to ensure a high level of compliance is attained
Skills Required
Previous experience of running a large department in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in successful negotiation of price saving initiatives across all aspects of business
Expertise to benchmark, understand best practise, collating and analysing information on suppliers, competitors and service/product innovations in order to inform strategy and negotiations
Ability to promote alternative solutions through design and implementation of new concepts to the business
