Head of Procurement (indirect categories) for a Global Rail/Transport Organisation in Central London
Your new company You will join a multi-national Rail/Transport organisation based in Central London. They employ over 25,000 people globally and with a turnover of over £5bn. They have won contracts all over the world, including London, Sydney, Melbourne, Beijing and more.
Your new role This organisation is looking for a Head of Procurement who will focus on indirect categories. The main categories you will look after are Facilities Management and Construction, but of course you will also manage, IT, HR, Marketing and other indirect spends.
You will manage the supplier portfolio and have 2 direct reports that look after the contract management and transactional sourcing aspect of procurement whilst you take care of the strategic operations. A large part of your role will focus on the Supplier Relationship Management aspect of the indirect spend managing risk, supplier performance and looking at cost saving activities.
What you'll need to succeed You will need experience with indirect categories, more specifically Facilities Management (FM) with the Construction category being a bonus. Other indirect category management experience is also highly desirable, such as IT. You will need to be a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.
