Indirects Buyer

Our client is a Major organisation within the healthcare industry, who are seeking a new team member to join the organisation with specialist purchasing skills within Indirects, specifically around IT, HR, Marketing or Office Services.

Duties:
  • You will manage, indirect spend areas such as IT, HR, Marketing and Office Supplies
  • Lead sourcing for both technical and quality performance
  • Take responsibility for spend, ensuring targeted savings achieved
  • Engage with buying teams in active collaboration for developing categories
  • Build a strong network within the Supply Management both at a regional and local level
  • Support the Head of Procurement in development of Purchasing/Category/Supplier strategies
  • Ensure relevant due diligence and buying process is adopted across all categories
  • Provide strategic direction to relevant colleagues, ensuring tactical decisions are aligned to (and enable) future strategies
  • Follows and implements processes and procedures as required that ensure improved purchasing performance in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintains and communicates the preferred supplier and approved product/service lists to relevant colleagues.
  • Identifies and develops suppliers to support the business.
  • Manages supplier contracts to meet the business needs using robust contracting methods.
  • Prepares and collects data relating to service level agreements and contract performance measures

Person skills:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • CIPS qualification would be advantageous or studying towards
  • Skills in Stakeholder management, Relationship management, Organisation and negotiation
  • Experience of managing a variety of spend categories, either in Procurement Category Manager or Junior Category Manager position
  • Proven commercial experience in Private sector Procurement
  • Understanding of procurement and contract law
  • Experience of managing data and producing performance analysis.
  • Experience of conducting successful negotiations.
  • At least 2 years experience in Procurement
