I am actively looking to engage a Carrier Management and Transport Expert to join an exciting 12 month out-sourcing project in Derbyshire.

Client Details

My client is a leading manufacturer based in the aerospace and aeronautical logistics sector. They currently specialise in the manufacture of high-quality materials and are looking to implement the out-sourcing of their transport fleet to a third party logistics provider.


You will be responsible for the outsourcing and TUPE for a fleet of 25 vehicles, 70 trailers and over 30 drivers. The successful Interim Carrier Manager will report directly into the Operations Director and be responsible for the overall smooth transition:
  • Compile analysis and understanding of the end-to-end supply chain of the business to allow the effective co-ordination of the transition.
  • Design, develop and implement new carrier strategies to support the continued business growth, whilst keeping up to date with carrier markets to ensure the operation is as efficient as possible.
  • Lead multiple tender processes with appropriate 3PL providers.
  • Review our inbound supplier process with the full aim of providing cost savings and efficiency's.
  • Be commercially aware of external influence such as economical and environmental impacts.
  • Work closely with the Directorship team to complete the outsourcing of all of the in-house transport team.
  • Create and implement a strategic SLA with the in-coming third party logistics provider.


The successful candidate will have a history of Project Implementation Manager and hands-on experience within a Transport Management environment. You will ideally have the following experience / abilities:
  • A strong, proven, background within Carrier Management.
  • History of outsourcing implementation within a transport environment
  • Ideally experience in a Transport Management in both 3PL and in-house businesses.
  • Experienced in constructing RFQ and SLA documents
  • An analytical approach to project management with the customer in mind.
  • A strong and confident professional with a solid understanding of the 3PL network.
  • Desirably educated to Degree Level with a CPC Qualification.
