The successful candidate will involve managing tenders from start to finish in order to award contracts to suppliers that will help maintain and construct the Infrastructure/Construction arm of the business.

Client Details

My client is a leading Utilities organisation that are based in The North West that are looking to add a talented Buyer to their team on an interim 6 month contract.


The Role

  • Efficiencies and financial savings
  • Compliance with Internal Control Manual & Procurement Legislation
  • Programme delivery
  • Interfacing with key stakeholders
  • Confident in placing material orders within a construction environment
  • Confident in working on large scale projects
  • To define, analyse, develop sourcing strategy for the relevant category of spend
  • Communicate and manage relationship with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Responsible for contract strategy & award


The Candidate

  • An understanding of EU Procurement legislation (desirable);
  • A degree level qualification (desirable);
  • Experience of Construction project/framework Procurement (essential);
  • Experience in tendering opportunity which will use NEC3 style contracts (desirable);
  • A professional qualification in a relevant discipline – e.g. Procurement (CIPS) or (desirable);
  • A detailed knowledge of procurement processes and proven experience as a buyer (essential);
  • The ability to manage your own workload and use your initiative to drive procurement exercises forward;
  • A strong customer focus with excellent communication skills;
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft office;
  • Full driving license and own transport as travel will be required.

Job Offer

My client is looking to offer a day rate of £250p/d for the ideal candidate
