1st Executive are retained by a large manufacturing organisation, who are currently undergoing a number of key change initiatives across their IT procurement team. They require a senior that specialises in IT procurement, to lead some high-level, complex contract negotiations, along with providing guidance and executing process/SLA changes to their category management structure.

Required Experience:
  • Proven track record in both providing IT procurement strategy leadership - developing category management initiatives, category frameworks and leading key negotiations that involve external stakeholders.
  • Broad background that covers multiple areas of the IT category - key areas here include hardware, software and looking to source these into the cloud where possible.
  • Experience managing high levels of IT category spend, £100million + at least and complex in nature.
  • Experience re-negotiating existing contracts, ideally that are complex in nature and with tier-1 consultancy organisations. The purpose of these negotiations maybe to get a more 'value for money' after conducting market comparison research, but also redefining SLA metrics to be more in line with changing business objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage tough, challenging stakeholders, that ideally are on both an internal and external basis.
  • This will be working with a small team, so the ability to work both as part of a team with a common objective, as well as operating autonomously.
  • Ideally you will have valid and in-date SC Clearance, however candidates with previously obtained SC will also be considered.
