1st Executive are retained by a global fortune 500 organisation, who require a procurement analyst to join their existing team on an interim contract, ahead of some very exciting initiatives for a global transformation programme. You will be supporting key individuals involved in procurement transformation and finance across areas such as budgeting and operational spend throughout this period of change.

Job Purpose:

The analyst will support the Procurement Transformation Lead and Head of Procurement Finance with a number of activities in support of our ongoing head count management and input into the global OPEX budgeting cycle for the Procurement function.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Conduct central Procurement forecasting/ budgeting activities for 2018 as directed (for required cost packages e.g. travel, meetings, contactors etc)
  • Identify and address discrepancies between top down budget and bottom up forecast, including appropriate follow up with Procurement leadership team members
  • Coordinate and submit our forecast using Global OPEX tools
  • Manage alignment between approved headcount and that charged to Procurement, ensuring any gaps or discrepancies are highlighted, explained and elevated as appropriate. Including future cost / headcount modelling activities
  • Track and manage Procurement contractor spend, ensuring accurate forecast and actuals capture/ reconciliation to achieve budget
  • Conduct data analytics, pull together summary presentations / reports as requested

Required Experience & Education:
  • Degree level educated
  • English speaker
  • Numerical / Analytical background - 3+ years’ experience working as an analyst or assistant controller (preferably in Procurement/ Finance)
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly competent with Excel, a good level of PowerPoint
  • Confident engaging with senior leaders
  • Self starter – can deliver against guiderails but also takes initiative in shaping deliverables / outputs
  • Any Professional Purchasing (e.g. CIPS) or Finance related licenses or certifications would be considered advantageous
