Working as an integral part of the Planning & Stock Management team, the role is essential to drive the "right first time" ambition of the Logistics function.

The Stock and Inventory Manager will own the DC inventory operation and will influence the Operational Management team to maintain this integrity supporting operational efficiency

Leading retail distributor.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and implement monthly, weekly and daily inventory processes to support stock file integrity, service level and operational efficiency
  • Ensure all stock is accounted for from initial receipt, during storage and through to final delivery.
  • Ensure high standards of stock integrity and minimise stock losses, through the effective control and management of a robust perpetual inventory procedure.
  • Raise the profile of the stock control team within the operation building credibility in order to influence the operations team and the wider business
  • Ensure relevant development plans are in place for team members to support internal promotion and succession planning.
  • Provide accurate and meaningful reports to the Operational Management team to drive stock integrity and accuracy
  • Define and report upon monthly KPI's for inventory management and control
  • Complete appropriate stock moves at required intervals to support operational efficiency and fulfilment


Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Substantial inventory management experience in Retail, FMCG or 3PL logistics
  • Highly analytical with strong ability to analyse and interpret detailed data
  • Problem-solving experience
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence the operational teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to influence at higher levels
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate ability to work and make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to organise and prioritise the workload of the team on a daily basis.

Job Offer

£50,000 (pro rata)
