Interim Transport FLM - Leading 3PL Provider - Leicestershire

Client Details

A leading UK based 3PL are actively looking to recruit for a Transport FLM to bolster their already impressive operation in Leicestershire. This role will report directly into the Transport Manager, with you working as 1 of 3 Transport FLM's within the site.

This role is a 12 month interim assignment initially with a view to going permanent for the right candidate. Due to the demands of the operation, my clients need is urgent, therefore, any candidate that is immediately available or currently has a short notice period of up to 2 weeks would be strongly advised to read on and then apply.


In the Interim Transport FLM position you will be responsible for following:
  • Ensuring that your dedicated team and the workforce as a whole are given support and guidance to be motivated and dedicated at all times
  • Carrying out a mixture of day to day duties and ad-hoc / project duties as required
  • Acting as a mentor to those within your team and those around you
  • Leading the way in terms of best practise regarding safety and ensuring your team understand the importance of being safe in the workplace at all times.
  • Ensuring that all members of your operational team have clear goals and objectives
  • Ensure all delivery and collection schedules are met
  • Fleet management, maintenance and associated administration.
  • Understanding your team's performance and holding regular one to ones and reviews, providing open and honest feedback, in order to identify areas for development and how to incentivise your team to perform at the most effective level.
  • Communicating at all times - holding regular organised meetings, as well as ad hoc catch ups, with your teams to help them understand their key priorities.
  • Enabling an innovative workforce, and creating an environment where everyone can make suggestions and they can be heard, considered and implemented.
  • Evaluate the performance of both permanent employees and agency staff and provide constructive and clear feedback to aid in personal & professional development.
  • Ensure that training and development for both yourself and your team is identified and undertaken.
  • Investigating any service or operational failures to ensure they are understood and prevented in future.
  • Commutable to Leicestershire

This role is a Monday - Friday position on a rotational shift pattern of 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 / 22:00 - 06:00


The successful candidate for the Interim Transport FLM position will competent with the above and will also have the following skills and experiences:
  • Have a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background
  • CPC National / International qualified - Advantageous
  • 2+ years Transport experience - Essential
  • Have managed across 30+ drivers previously
  • Excellent leadership style
  • The ability to identify and evaluate potential risks
  • An innovative approach to leadership
  • A good understanding of reporting and recording performance statistics.
  • Having a good understanding of computer systems and how to fully utilise them.
  • Good relationship building skills

Job Offer
