My client has an urgent requirement for an Interim Transport Manager. You will be based in North West London

Client Details

Our client is a leading 3PL provider.


  • Ensuring that Customer Service consistently meets the customers requirements, in line with the agreed Service Level Agreements, through optimising resource management, technology, fleet utilisation and colleague enggement ;

  • Managing all transport activities including any agreed contractors for the site to ensure that all budgetary and financial KPIs, legislative, legal and procedural compliance, and contractual commitments are met;

  • Assisting in leading and developing a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in-class activity and operational excellence, in line with performance objectives;

  • Building and actively managing the relationship with the customer;

  • Ensuring all activities meet the standard for Safety, Health and the Environment (SHE), driving contribution to the safety culture

  • Managing performance of the team and being responsible for service delivery

  • Support the ongoing development of the contract Culture through active colleague engagement

  • Ensuring consistent focus from the team across a 7 days per week operation


  • National and International CPC holder

  • Experience in multi-drop (ideally 2 man home delivery) operations

  • Experience of managing a team, including discipline and grievance matters

  • Experience of managing in a transport environment and full knowledge of transport legislation

  • Numerate, with experience of delivering targets within budgetary constraints

  • Previous work experience in a 3PL or retail environment

  • PC literate

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE or equivalent level
  • Ability to communicate at all levels

  • Ability to work on own initiative and meet required deadlines in a pressurised environment

  • Attention to detail, driven by continual improvement and high standards

  • Resilient

  • Team leader who is able to lead by example

  • Team builder who is approachable, open, fair and consistent

  • Motivates and develops others through controlled delegation

  • Flexible approach, able to embrace change and accept responsibility

  • Trustworthy
