This is a brand new and exciting opportunity to join a Europe leading distribution business within the Sheffield area. Due to a substantial amount of growth they are now looking to strengthen their supply chain team by recruiting a number of positions within this area.

Client Details

I've once again partnered up with one of Sheffield's flagship businesses as they look to strengthen their supply chain. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Inventory & Demand Planner to join a business who are willing to invest time into their people by offering training and development.

Description

As the Inventory & Demand Planner you will be responsible for the following;
  • Manage the daily purchase order process for a specific range of SKUs. Using exception reporting identifies articles that require replenishment purchase orders or exceptional purchase orders. Identify articles that need to be expedited or de-expedited to meet inventory and service level targets.


  • Analyse stock levels and make decisions about purchase quantities and delivery frequency in line with the stock policies set by the Regional Inventory Manager


  • Liaise with Warehouse staff to ensure effective load management, considering daily intake capacity and warehouse capacity for specific articles. Manage purchases to find a balance between load efficiencies for our suppliers and optimising inventory intake for the business.


  • Establish effective practices to deliver both service and inventory financial targets to support ongoing sales and margin delivery for the Opco


  • Ensuring that stock purchasing complies with inventory strategy, and is purchased from the best commercial source, as specified by the Category team.


  • Adopt a culture in which the focus on outstanding customer service and on time and in full delivery is at the heart of every decision made


  • Embraces new thinking and adopts a continuous improvement approach to ongoing enhancement of performance and efficiency of processes



Profile

The successful candidate for the Inventory & Demand Planner will ideally have the following key skills and qualifications;
  • Experience in inventory management, purchase order management and supplier interaction
  • Experience gained within a supply chain, distribution/logistics or retail function
  • Good analytical experience and excel skills
  • Strong commercial skills supported by a pragmatic approach
  • Good problem solving skills and an attitude of continual improvement
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Demonstrable planning and organisation skills
  • Build and maintain relationships at all levels within the business


  • Strong Inventory Management skills


  • Influencing skills


  • Focus on customer focus


  • Strong analytical ability


  • Relationship building and influencing skills with the ability to work across all levels


  • Good commercial acumen
  • Good IT skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
